STREET CHURCH

Micah’s spiritual community, known as Street Church, creates a sanctuary for those experiencing homelessness and those in the community seeking connection and spiritual growth.

What is Street Church?

  • Micah Street Church is a faith community without walls located in the heart of Fredericksburg.
  • We seek to be a fresh expression of the church where all people can feel welcome no matter their background.
  • Our church is an ecumenical seed, planted by the six denominations in the downtown Fredericksburg area.
  • We aim to cultivate a transformative and inclusive place for neighbors to Gather, Sow, and Grow in Christ together within our beloved community, made up of those who have experienced homelessness and those who love them.

NURTURING SPIRITUALITY AND COMMUNITY

As a collective, we gather to hear the Word of God proclaimed in a unique conversational expression that allows those in attendance to ask questions and dig deeper into their faith.

Together, we believe that our worship brings glory and honor to God by showing up as our authentic selves and allowing the messiness of God’s people to show up not as something to be hidden, but as something that is cherished in God’s eyes.

Sunday breakfast

and worship with our friends

On Sunday mornings, our Street Church congregation meets at 9 AM for breakfast at The Common Ground Meeting House (1915 Charles Street).

After breakfast, our congregation visits one of our many Micah partner churches to join the congregation in worship. Join us for breakfast, and then to get on the bus to attend worship with us as a group!

Street Church family dinner

On the third Tuesdays of the month, the Street Church congregation hosts community dinner!

We meet at The Common Ground Meeting House (1915 Charles Street) to serve dinner starting at 5 PM.  Members of our congregation plan the menu, get donations of supplies for the meal, and gather to cook and serve!

Street Church congregation members are always welcome to jump in to help prepare, serve, and clean up.

JOIN US IN WORSHIP AND SERVICE

Experience the power of community worship that transcends traditional boundaries. Street Church is a testament to the resilience and compassion of the human spirit. We welcome you to be part of this loving community where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.

As we grow in our faith, we learn how our own story has power to DO justice, LOVE Kindness, and WALK Humbly with God (Micah 6:8).
