A foster parent shared: “Who am I to say “no” to foster parenting because of how it might hurt me when a child leaves? Who am I to protect my own feelings when a vulnerable child is given no choice in the matter? A child who is alone with possibly no one else to step up and protect him/her? There is rarely a line of folks waiting to take in a foster child. If you don’t do it, there may be no one else. That’s reality. United Methodist Family Services averages 50 calls a month looking for foster homes for these kids. When the system breaks down and at risk kids do not get what they need, children face greater chance of becoming homeless as adults. Join Micah and UMFS for one of three info sessions, and learn more about how you can help.
